Following is information regarding Chairman’s visit to the NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas.
- The NASA Johnson Space Center provided a special V.I.P. tour of the Center on January 26, 2016 for Fort Sill Apache representatives. Present on the tour were:
- Chairman Jeff Haozous
- Rich Rabin, Chief Financial Officer
- Kriss Ethridge, President, Fort Sill Apache Industries, Inc.
- Tammy Smith, Director of Contracts, Fort Sill Apache Industries, Inc.
- Jeanne Newman, Director of Business Development, Fort Sill Apache Industries, Inc.
- The tour included:
- Welcome to JSC from the JSC Protocol Office
- Tour of the International Space Station Flight Control Viewing Room where NASA engineers and flight directors monitor Space Station operations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year as they support U.S. and Russian astronauts.
- Tour of the historic Apollo Era Mission Operations Control Room floor where the Fort Sill Apache group was able to actually sit at consoles that were used during Apollo missions to the moon.
- Tour of the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility where astronauts train in high fidelity trainers. The Fort Sill Group was allowed to go inside the International Space Station Trainer, the Russian Soyuz Trainer, the Orion Trainer, and a retired Space Shuttle cockpit and mid-deck trainer.
- During their visit, the Fort Sill Apache group also met with the JSC Small Business Office, as well as potential customers and teaming partners to discuss upcoming contract opportunities.
